Crafted for the kitchen you actually have
Born from a small kitchen and a big idea
CounterKind started in a small town in middle Tennessee with a problem every cook knows: there was never enough counter space. The stove sat unused most of the day, taking up precious room.
Our founder, a second-generation woodworker, built the first foldable stove cover on a weekend — a single piece of wood that covered the stove, locked open as a serving tray, and folded into a countertop riser for a front display shelf. Friends wanted one. Then their friends. So we opened a workshop.
Today we handcraft every piece from premium North American wood, finished by hand and built to last for decades. One piece that covers, serves, and displays — because the best kitchens work smarter, not harder.
Our Values
Handcrafted, Not Mass-Made
Every piece is handmade, shaped, and finished in our Tennessee workshop. No two pieces of wood are alike — and that's the point.
Solid Wood, Sustainably Sourced
We work exclusively with premium North American woods carefully choosing for each piece. No veneers, no shortcuts.
Designed to Do More
We build multifunction pieces that earn their place in small kitchens — a stove cover, serving tray, and countertop riser in one, made to be used every day.
Honest, Accessible Pricing
By selling directly from our workshop, we offer heirloom craftsmanship at a fair price — backed by a 90-day warranty.
